Gallery: Soaking it up Spa-Style

This Master Bathroom is in the same home as the kitchen we showed in our last Gallery. From the walk in steam shower and drop in tub and deck to the 8’-0” long vanity you notice the feeling of complete serenity; a Spa-Style room in the home.

The full glass walls used for the walk in shower give a great illusion of space and the solid slab marble tub deck is a great touch. Marble throughout the floor and walls with art glass accents offer a consistent back drop giving it a dramatic atmosphere and contrast nicely with our Paradigm Kitchen Design cabinetry.

Paradigm Kitchen Design was the cabinet company of choice throughout this new residence in the McKenzie Heights neighborhood in Vancouver.

The large center island is great for entertaining guests.  It includes plenty of counter space for planning meals, lots of storage, a wine fridge and seating for 3. It contrasts nicely with the white painted finish of the cabinetry on 3 sides.

Custom panelled appliances and a more furniture styled pantry area integrate this space nicely with the adjacent Family Room. The appliance garage right of the sink allows for a neat and tidy storage solution rather than having those items filling up counter space. Neatly tucked in behind you may notice the Wok Kitchen which complements the Main Kitchen beautifully.

This home in sunny Tsawwassen went through an amazing transformation during this remodel.

By changing the cabinetry from outdated wood to a clean and sleek slab door with a painted lacquer finish, the room achieves a feeling of openness.  Overall counter space has been increased with the addition of a peninsula eating area which doubles nicely as additional workspace conveniently located in the middle of the kitchen.  There is no shortage of storage thanks to pantries that flank the eating area and upper cabinets that extend to the ceiling.

Other areas of interest include: a  full height aluminium tambour that efficiently organizes the corner, floating open shelves around the television and display storage at the end of the peninsula and a large modern sink with an integral drain tray.

The palate for this kitchen was chosen for its calming nature; the soft blues of the glass playing against the warmth of the laminate (yes, LAMINATE) doors. The countertops are Cambria Quartz surfacing (Torquay) and the flooring is Forbo Marmoleum.

This remodel has taken in the original kitchen and an old, under-utilized bathroom.  The new room is so spacious we were able to eliminate wall cabinetry on two walls and still have plenty of storage space for the clients.  Two pantries are accessorized with roll-out shelves and a full height pantry pull-out to make the amble storage as useful as possible. And by putting all the tall elements in this kitchen onto one wall, the amount of continuous counter space is every cook's dream.

This French Provincial style kitchen features a beautiful combination of our white lacquer paint and stained Alder finishes. Fine furniture details such as turned posts, decorative corbels, hood fan shroud and decorative mouldings are featured. Marble countertops, mosaic tile backsplash and decorative bronzed plumbing fixtures complete the look.

Overlooking the waters of Ambleside Beach in West Vancouver, the kitchen in this new home features many contemporary design features that may make one forget the stunning views.  The mix of rift-cut white oak (our Hoisin stain) and high-gloss polyurethane paint creates a high-end kitchen that is both modern and inviting.  Countertops are quartz while the eating bar off the island is rift oak.

In addition to the kitchen, we also created the paneling for the entrance way and family rooms.  Using the wood panelling not only creates a sense of unity throughout the main floor, it also balances with the stark white surfaces on the adjacent walls.

The kitchen in this Arbutus condo was designed in a way that functioned well for the client, but the cabinets and countertop were old and simply looked out of date.  We removed the drop ceilings in the kitchen to allow the new cabinets to rise all the way to the ceiling, providing much needed storage.  Cabinetry from Paradigm feature engineered wood doors in horizontal grain.  Countertops are Caesarstone Quartz surfacing and the backsplash is "Moonlight" Onyx.  Additional under-cabinet LED lighting was added to better illuminate the work surfaces.

This large scale renovation was completed with the help of RJR Construction.  The kitchen features two sinks(1 main and 1 prep in island) two bar fridges and two microwaves; truly a design with culinary creativity in mind.  Custom leaded glass insert in built in buffet and the vintage light fixtures over the island were both selected to compliment the original fixtures in the home. The backsplash is a mix of Carrera marble and glass, and adds a cool colour scheme that balances the warmth of the stunning views through the new French doors.

This beautiful heritage home in Vancouver turns 100 years old this year and what better way to celebrate a century than with a new kitchen by Paradigm Kitchen Design.

It was important to strike a balance between honouring the architecture and style of a home built in 1912, while adding some contemporary flavour and modern technology. To this end, materials included quarter sawn white oak and painted enamel finishes, custom stained glass panels reminiscent of Charles Rennie Macintosh , and hand-made brass handles. A Scottish Rose motif can be seen in the wood inserts and stained glass.

If you'd like to see stunning home in person, it will be featured on the Vancouver Heritage Foundation’s 2012 Heritage House Tour. More information can be found HERE.

We're On The Move!

Paradigm Kitchen Design is pleased to announce that we are moving our showroom and fabrication operations to a new, combined facility at 720 Alexander Street in Vancouver’s historic Railtown district effective immediately.

"We felt it was time to bring things together," said Paradigm owner Justin Horn. “The convenience of having everything under one roof allows us to operate more efficiently. We can offer our clientele locally manufactured custom cabinetry and millwork without having to rely on products from out of town or overseas. It is great to be able to employ talented local designers and skilled tradespeople and keep them working right here in the heart of Vancouver.”

We opened for business in Coquitlam in 1995, but moved to the corner of 14th and Cambie Street in Vancouver in 2000. The new location meant more sophisticated projects and our design team soon realized they needed a more flexible and reliable cabinet and millwork supplier. We expanded with his own manufacturing facility to answer this need in 2006.

This amalgamation of the design showroom and manufacturing facility to 720 Alexander Street represents a vertically integrated business that is unique to the urban landscape of Vancouver. We look forward seeing you at our new showroom.  Contact one of our design team to set up a meeting.
